Barbara Goodson’s career covers many years and many genres. Among her hundreds of characters, the throat ripping voice of “Empress Rita Repulsa” on Mighty Morphin Power Ranger’s TV series, “Robo Rita” in Once & Always, plus games and live shows are still her claim to fame. Also, the voice of “Mother Talzin” in Star Wars: The Clone Wars in which she received a Best Actor Award. She was the voice of “Naota” in FLCL, “Zirconia” in Sailor Moon Eternal, “Clumby Clumbernut” in Bugsnax,“Valsirenn” in Elder Scrolls, “Shinya Oda” in Persona 5 Royal, “Marianne Lenoir” in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, “Enyaba” in Jo Jo’s Bizarre Adventure. Other notables are “Princess Leia” and “Mother Talzin” for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens & Terrifying Tales, “Noby’s Grandma” in Stand By Me Doraemon 2, “Laharl” in Disgaea, “Baroness Vashj” in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, “Kid Goku/Zero” in 1990’s Dragon Ball Z, “Red Fraggle” in the animated Fraggle Rock, “Granny Chiyo” in Naruto, “Song’s Mother” in The Last Airbender, “The Shaman” in Legend of Korra, “Salomon & TK’s Mom” in Digimon, “Sera” & “Marie Crystal” in Robotech, “Takashi & Kaori” in Akira, “Kiki’s Mom” in Kiki’s Delivery Service, “Doris” in Vampire Hunter D, “Darling” in Lady and the Tramp II, and “Cruella Deville”& “Cinderella’s Step Mother” for Disney-On-Ice.
Barbara also received an Earphones Award for narrating “Blair Clemons” for the book On A Night Like This and was so proud to be a part of the wonderful cast of the children’s series CloudBread, playing “Wooli” the sheep and “Ruiz” the fox, “the grannies” and numerous “kids voices” which was nominated for an Annie Award and an International Emmy Award for children’s programming.
Barbara is the voice of “The Queen” for Dreamworks: Kung Fu Panda TV Series, “Lady of the Tree” in Nickelodeon’s Middlemost Post and Mrs. Withers in Wylde Pak. “Agnes” in Mr. Pickles for Season 2 & 3 and on camera as “Mrs. Erickson” in gray wig for Episode 2 of Harley Quinn & The Joker VS. The Real World. She also voice matched “Jacki Weaver” in The Five-Year Engagement and Life of the Party, was “Mrs. Lussac” in the Oscar nominated animated feature I Lost My Body, in Dreamworks original animated feature The Bad Guys as the pivotal “Little Old Lady” and “Aiko” in Miyazaki’s Oscar winning animated feature The Boy and The Heron. “Turbo Granny” in the hit anime Dandadan has happily become the latest favorite and “Granny Miya” in Sakamoto Days, etc. … & onward!
Barbara is so very grateful to be able to continue to do what she loves to do and to have the privilege of meeting the people who enjoy her work and grew up listening to her throughout the years!
